INTRODUCTION

Out in industry, many companies will use the same machine to produce different products. They do this by creating a changeover. During a changeover, an operator or technician may need to do the following:

Change out a component or some tooling on a machine for a different component or different tooling
Change robot waypoints
Change the model number on the HMI

We are going to practice completing a changeover. By completing this changeover, you will also be practicing everything you have learned so far in this course, including these:

Wearing PPE and safety equipment
Locking out and tagging out a system before working on it
Following assembly instructions
Following a Standard Operating Procedure
Documenting the process or procedure
Using an HMI to run a machine
Programming robot waypoints
Using data to optimize a machine's performance

CHANGEOVER LABS

To complete the labs in this module, you will need to do the following:

Suit up in specialized PPE (the type of PPE is specified in the instructions for the lab)
Complete a changeover, including swapping out tooling, touching up robot waypoints, and changing the model number
Document the completion of the changeover and submit the documentation
Document the completion of the SOP and submit the documentation
Optimize the machine
